Problem

The winter season is a key sales period for a large portion of Seirus products. During these months, it’s essential that in-store floor displays are stocked and well-maintained to provide the best selection and experience for their customers. Seirus partnered with Customer Impact to assist them with this important¬†retail merchandising process.

The focus of this project was to merchandise inventory in several big box retailers across four key time frames. Customer Impact’s field team helped maintain positive product representation in their large, chain-based customers throughout this seasonal period.

Each individual step of the store visit was recorded using the GoSpotCheck App.

First, the location was verified with an exterior photo of the physical store location. Next, Customer Impact field representatives would take a photo of the Seirus merchandising display as it was found. Finally, an “after” photo was taken of the correctly merchandised display.

Data Gathering

Data gathering is a key component to any successful merchandising project.

Customer Impact field representatives were tasked with answering questions about the location of the Seirus products, including:

  • Store department location of product
  • How the products are displayed
  • Number of units present
  • Number of units in backstock,
  • Number of competitor product removed from Seirus point-of-sale displays
  • Visual damage of Seirus displays

With all of this data, Seirus was able to gain location-level insight into each and every one of their in-store product displays.

Retail Merchandising

First, the location was verified with an exterior photo of the physical store location. Next, our field representatives would take a photo of the existing Seirus merchandising display as it was found. Finally, after making the necessary adjustments, an “after” photo was taken of the corrected display.

Result

Customer Impact was able to report timely results to Seirus regarding in-store inventories and conditions of their cold weather gear displays and racks. This enabled Seirus to react quickly to customer needs and to be certain that products are reaching the shelves during their premium selling season.
